Spring Has Sprung

Yesterday was the first official day of Spring, finally! I was so excited to finally be enjoying the first of many gorgeous days ahead. How did I celebrate the sunny skies? Well, by outdoor drinking of course! One of my favorite things to do is to have lunch outside and boy watch in the city with a drink in hand. Everyone was outside enjoying the weather and showing off their favorite new Spring outfits. Before sitting down to a late lunch in the West Village, I walked all over the city. I walked from my apartment downtown all the way to about 20th and then looped back down to 14th on the West Side. There is nothing like just walking around this city on a sunny day.

After the walk and brunch, there wasn't anything else to do except for drink more and then go shopping. You need to make sure to stock up on your new Spring wardrobe items while you are happy and tipsy, it always makes spending the money a lot easier. I helped my gay boyfriend find the best new pieces and helped him to adopt a new color into his closet of black tee shirts - white tee shirts.

All of this Spring talk was also making me want to freshen things up. I was thinking about getting a haircut and a few highlights. Randomly, at one of the bars that we had gone to we were talking to two guys. The conversation of Blondes vs. Brunettes had come up and his answer was quite interesting. He said "I would take a hot brunette over a hot blonde any day." I am not sure if he was saying that because I am obviously a brunette but after he explained himself, it seemed to be quite insightful. He said that blondes are always hot because of their hair. It is something that has been programmed into men's brains to think the word hot right before the word blonde. He said that when he thinks that a brunette is hot, she is really hot, no pre-programmed questioning needed. No matter where you stand on the blondes vs. brunettes battle, I am thoroughly confused. Needless to say, this random bar guy has made me question my hopes of sunny highlights to brighten up my hair for Spring.

My New Haircute

I love getting my haircut. Tonight, I got the sexiest haircut ever. It is so cute - haircute! I have always heard the phrase "New hair, new boys." That is another reason that I love getting my hair cut. The phrase is usually true.

When you get your haircut and you feel great, you feel like a new person. When you feel like a new person, you attract new people. You are looking and feeling confident and guys are then attracted to you. A hair cut is always a good way to get out of a rut.

Speaking of new boys, Meat Head finally told me his story. There is always a catch. He is living with an ex-girlfriend! They apparently broke up a few months ago and are fighting over an apartment/living situation. It makes me wonder what else he hasn't told me. Honestly, he seems like a nice guy and let the Ex live in the apartment until she found a place. Since she sounds like an awful person, she has over extended her stay.

It is hard to know whether to trust him or not. He is really nice but a girl never knows when a guy is lying. Thankfully I have a new haircut and I will be meeting a new guy soon.

What are you thinking?

Today on my way back from work, I noticed a man with an awful comb over.  It looked similar to the picture that I have provided above.  What are you trying to hide?  The jig is up.  For all of us, please just shave your head!  You are making yourself look older than you really are with this "hairdo."

Does hair even matter Ladies?

Tonight I went all over the city.  First, I went to a place called Monkey Bar.  It is a fabulous bar that is under a new owner but still an amazing after work spot on 54th and Madison.  With the same monkey wallpaper and relaxed atmosphere, there is an undeniable charm that cannot be beat.  Everyone seemed fabulous.

After Monkey Bar, a quick stop at Bobby Van's uptown to say hello to the owners.  They did not care that my friend and I were transferring from our usual downtown spot and bought us a drink.  Very nice of them...

On to Morandi after BV's for a fabulous dinner (on someone else - Thank you Gentlemen!).  I had an amazing time discussing the well prepared pasta and prosciutto.  Dinner was well worth the wait.

An interesting topic came up tonight; the topic of hair style was one of many that we discussed.  My friend and I were talking about the differences between styled hair and natural hair (I know everyone is sooo excited to read about this!).  A girl always looks her best when she has her hair all done up to her liking, whether it be by a professional stylist or done by herself.  She feels confident and sexy when she is having a "good hair day."  We decided that a man generally likes a girl to have loose and crazy hair, more natural.  It is touchable and free that way.  They can put their fingers through it unlike the helmet look where you are more suited for battle than play.  If a girl feels more confident with her hair all done up and straightened the way she likes it, but a man likes a woman's hair to be loose and sexy, what is a girl to do?

"Men just like boobs!" That was the quote of the night and it ends the argument over straight versus flowing ringlets.  A man isn't looking at a woman's hair for that long to notice.

I love this city :)
